Greetings Committee Members,
Just an update and info from the Summit for those of you who were unable to attend.
Since this was the "Influential Women's" Summit the focus was to formulate a plan realizing where you already are influential and how to leverage that into where you want to go. Here are snippets of what I came away with. You've heard most of them before, but repetition is good.
*Find a mentor and learn all you can from them.
*Surround yourself with successful people.
*Bring someone else along. Pay it forward.
*Don't keep looking for what’s next, instead focus on what's important.
Great News!! Next year, March 21-22, 2009, WCR will be holding a Summit in Chicago. Although it's the only one scheduled for next year, it will focus on "Marketing to Women" and is being held at the Marriott on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. (That's almost right across the street from NAR and our National WCR office.) There's information now on WCR.org. On March 20th, the day before the Summit, there will be a Leadership Training session, so check out the web site for more information.
Also had an opportunity to speak with all the known candidates for National Financial Secretary and have invited each of them to visit our Regional Meeting in Orlando so all our members can meet them, if even so briefly, before they officially make their speeches to the general membership before the vote. They have all agreed to attend, so remind your members to not miss our meeting.
I'd also like to thank the Pikes Peak Chapter for a great luncheon meeting and educational session. Robbie Emge, Colorado State President, and I attended the meeting the day before I flew to Boston. The luncheon had a presentation on Colorado's Short Sale Addendum and offered CE credit. Programming like this is always important, and this meeting certainly offered not only networking, but meaningful education and hopefully those REALTORS who attended who where not WCR members, got a better idea of how powerful our organization is and how Women's Council can help them in their business. So, thank you Pikes Peak Chapter for your hospitality.
Later this month, I'm off to Tucson for the Arizona State Chapter Meetings. You'll hear more when I return.
Until then, have a safe and prosperous Summer.
